Reviving the Giant
How we turned a 30-year-old legacy workflow into a digital future.

The Reality
Imagine a travel giant operating on processes from the 1990s. Thousands of suppliers, guides, and staff relying on manual spreadsheets and fragmented emails. It wasn’t just inefficient, it was exhausting for everyone involved.
My Role
I didn’t just design an interface; I ended up architecting the department. I started as a hands-on Principal Designer and evolved into a Strategic Lead, helping scale the team from 3 founders to over 60 people of various roles and skills.
The Result
We built “KT Partners” a single source of truth for the company. We saved tens of millions in EUR, automated mundane 10-minute tasks into single clicks, and, most importantly, gave time back to the employees and clients to create value and kill stress.
Single Source of Truth for clients, employees & suppliers+ Meeting place for everyone to cooperate & communicate= Our partners are demanding the same service from our rivals.

The process
Observing, listening and only then designing.
I’ve started with in-depth interviews, on-site shadowing, collecting all the documents they’ve worked with and mapping the current processes. Meeting clients in their restaurants, bus operating HQs and hotel lobbies. Travelling to our various offices and building relationships, understanding pains and joys of our colleagues. And then in our Prague office pouring all of this into post-its, workshops, presentations that turned into wireframes, lo-fi prototypes and finally into dev handoff.

Examples of interface
Here’s how login, basic detail screen and live map interfaces look like. Initially accessible only internally. Think of them as a foundation laid for future development. Connected to legacy data storages, available for everyone who would be interested, structured, well performing and designed mobile first. On the background you can see how the AS/400 interface looked like, when we started our work.

Anywhere anytime
Not relying on paper print outs and office VPNs allowed for better way of work. All you need now is a smart phone.

the journey
Growing stronger together
Starting as a Senior UX Designer, my role evolved alongside the project's growth into that of a Principal Designer. While my core focus remained rooted in Service and Product Design, my scope expanded to include high-level strategy and organizational influence, driving the project’s vision forward through an expert individual contributor lens.
01
Brand, UX & Product

I led the end-to-end design for Partners, from naming and brand identity to the creation of Design System. By grounding the project in mixed-methods UX research, I mapped complex user journeys and facilitated stakeholder workshops to define the product's strategic roadmap, epics, and key 'delighter' features.
02
Strategic Vision

I served as a strategic advisor to the Director and C-level management, shaping the overarching product vision and strategy. In collaboration with Product Delivery and Engineering, I architected quarterly roadmaps for three autonomous, cross-functional streams—each integrated with Product Owners, multi-level UX Designers, Agile Delivery Masters, and Senior Engineers. Beyond my core remit, I proactively identified and championed internal opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
03
Leadership & Growth

I played a key role in the department’s early growth, collaborating with HR to recruit and mentor a high-performing UX team. After successfully hiring a Design Leader to manage the team's daily operations, I transitioned into a specialized Individual Contributor role, shifting my focus toward strategic design execution and mentorship.
